New Product Tuesday: Bon Voyage Card Series featuring Simon Says Stamp July 2015 Kit

Hello friends,

It's been a while since I've posted a real New Product Tuesday post. I've been meaning to post it for a while and am finally catching up with all my projects.  Today I am featuring the Simon Says Stamp July 2015 Card Kit.  I posted an August card last week... so think of this as a quick jump back in time.

I'm heading out for a Hawaiian vacation and I thought this "Bon Voyage" sailboat card series would be a good fit.  Not that I'm sailing to Hawaii, that would take FOREVER.  Nonetheless, I made an entire series of cards featuring the awesome sailboat die and patterned paper that comes with the kit.

Materials:

  • Simon Says Stamp July 2015 Card Kit
    • Sailboat die cut
    • Patterned Paper
  • Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares dies
  • White card stock
  • Foam tape
  • Tons of GLUE!
  • Wink of Stella Glitter pen
Directions:
  • Using the sailboat die cut that comes with the kit, die cut the sail boat from white card stock 24 time.  Yes 24 times!
  • Now die cut the sail boat from patterned paper 8-16 times.  It depends on how you want to mix and match the parts of the boat
  • Glue three white card stock sail boats on top of each other to make study homemade chipboard.  Top each sail boat with a combination of pattered paper.
  • Layer the card in the following order from bottom up:
    • Card base
    • Pattered square
    • White small square
    • Sail Boat
    • Outer frame using foam adhesive to create a finished look
  • Add some sparkle using the Wink of Stella glitter pen on top of each sailboat.
  • This card is a simple design, but takes a while to make due to all the gluing.  But the finished product is so much fun!
Here are all 8 cards:

Bon Voyage (to myself)!

Happy August featuring Simon Says Stamp August 2015 Kit

Hi friends,

This post has been a long-time coming.  I just started a new job and while I've still made a bunch of cards, I haven't had a chance to post them... so the good news is I have plenty of content for the weeks to come :-)

Today's card is a quick and easy shaker card using the amazing Simon Says Stamp August 2015 Summer Sunshine card kit.  There are so many fun components to this kit including some delicious patterned paper (these patterns are so fun and summery), a sunshine die, puffy stickers, confetti and, best of all, a cool flip flop stamp set.  As someone who prefers to wear flip flops every day of the year, this is the perfect stamp set for me!

Materials:

  • Card base: 4.25"W x 11"H, scored at 5.5" market
  • Simon Says Stamp August 2015 Summer Sunshine card kit
  • Distress Inks for the window background
    • Squeezed Lemonade
    • Mustard Seed
    • Wild Honey
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Copic Markers
    • RV21, RV23, RV25, BG000, BG10
  • Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and Stitched Squares die sets
  • Foam Adhesive
  • Acetate for window
Directions:
  • Stamp the flip flops onto some copic friendly card stock. Color them in and fussy cut out.
  • Using the largest stitched rectangle, cut the patterned paper to make a background for the card. Glue this to the card base.
  • Using two stitched squares, cut a frame to place around the shaker window.  Using the negative piece (center of the smallest square), create a sunny background using distress ink blending.
  • Stamp the sentiment "Life is Better in Flip Flops" - you need to partially stamp the sentiment to fit it on two lines.
  • Take the square frame and glue the acetate window to the back.  Add foam adhesive around the edges.  Add in the confetti.  Adhere the distress ink background to the back of the window.
  • Glue this shaker square to the main card base.
  • Shake to your heart's content.
Enjoy and Happy August!
